An English 18 carat gold open faced keyless pocket watch made by Joseph Penlington in Liverpool, London Hallmarked for 1887. The gilt ¾ plate English lever movement with a cut and compensated bimetallic balance, and diamond end stone. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel spade hands. The polished hinged case is monogrammed on the back and the cuvette has a presentation inscription. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered, case numbered and stamped G.H.H., case and movement with matching numbers. Comes with a gold chain, gilt metal framed magnifying glass and key.
