An English 18 carat gold open faced key wind pocket watch made by John Crofs in London, London Hallmarked for 1827. The gilt full plate English lever movement with a three arm balance and diamond end stone. Gilt dial with applied gilded Roman hour numerals, outer gilt dot minute divisions, three colour gold foliate border, a guilloché center, engine turned subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gilt spade hands. The polished case with a foliate engraved band and pendant, and a crest on the reverse. Movement signed and numbered, case numbered and stamped FD.
