A very early and fine numbered anker chronometer made by Patek Philippe in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1865. The numbered open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 Carat gold, has an à goutte (water drop) shape, is engine turned on the back with a gold monogram, reeded, has the Patek Philippe case punch and a cuvette inscribed: ‘Patek Philippe & Co. Genève’. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with black numerals for the hours, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock and blued steel hands. The very fine Geneva anker chronometer movement has a large chronometer balance, a moustache lever escapement and Wolf’s toothing.
The cuvette is signed.
