Niëllo silver repeater with Grande and Petite sonnerie by Johan Georg Messy

A large, heavy German niëllo silver open faced quarter repeating Grande et Petite sonnerie pocket watch, circa 1825. Highly complicated gilt, grained full plate movement with 1/4 repeater, cylinder escapement, unusual, curved and decorated bridges, two hammers, two gongs, two barrels, visible, complicated mechanism with polished steel parts, three armed steel balance, exceptional fine regulation by a kidney shaped scale. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic minutes and blued Louis XV hands. Case decorated to the back with mythical creatures and foliage. Gilt signed cuvette.
