A Swiss Chinese market verge in a pearl-set gilt metal and enamel case, circa 1790. Full plate gilt fusee movement, round pillars, finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three-arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. Winding through the signed white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, and decorative gilt hands. Gilt consular case, the bezels set with a row of split pearls, polychrome enamel back depicting a young girl in a garden, the edge of blue drapes also set with pearls.
