Gilt metal oignon quarter repeater

French verge oignon quarter repeater with enamel dial in a gilt consular case, circa 1695. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement, slender Egyptian pillars, chased and engraved bridge cock, three-arm steel balance with spiral blue steel hairspring. Small silver regulator index. Enamel dial set with large blue Roman numerals, the outer ring with small blue Arabic numerals, inside ring marked for the hours and quarters. Wound through the enamel dial with probably gold hands. Deep gilt metal consular case, back beautiful decoratively pierced, chased and engraved, depicting two angels in the middle a basket with flowers surrounded by foliage, animals, depicting a woman, bezel decorated and pierced with foliage. Push pendant for quarter repeating on a bell in the case. The push pendant appears to be replaced once.
