A large Swiss nickel open faced verge pocket watch with calendar, circa 1790. Gilt full plate fusee movement, finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with garnet endstone, plain three-arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, large polished steel regulator, winding through the white enamel dial finely decorated with a polychrome enamel scene depicting a reclining shepherdess, a small dark blue chapter ring underneath with gilt Arabic hours, a minute track with Arabic quarter-hour numerals and gilt hands, outermost indexes for the date, a blue steel calendar hand. Plain case with a ribbed band.
