A French 18 Carat gold and enamel open faced pocket watch made for the Ottoman market, circa 1830. Cylinder movement, Lépine calibre. White enamel dial and rose gold hands. Polychrome enamel case with floral scenes and gold vines. Signed cuvette: Breguet a Paris Aiguilles N 17094 echappement a cylindre quatre trous en rubis.

Many of these fine enamel watches, which were made for the Ottoman Empire, were signed with the famous name ‘Le Roy’ or ‘Breguet’, even if they were not made by Le Roy or Breguet. The fantastic enamel cases were mostly made in Switzerland.
