Paul Graupner was first mentioned around 1680 and became a master in 1696. Pocket watches by Paul Graupner, one of the first Dresden masters of the 17th century, have hardly appeared so far. His son, Johann Gottlieb Graupner (around 1690-1759) was Court Watchmaker under Elector Friedrich August I (August the Strong) in Dresden.
