An early German 18 carat rose gold open faced lever pocket watch made for the Imperial and Royal Court Watchmaker Anton Schlesinger in Vienna, circa 1887. Very early Lange precision lever movement still without fine adjusting device, finely engraved cock, gold lever, gold escape wheel. Cuvette with buyer’s inscription: Anton Schlesinger K.K. Hof-Uhrmacher Wien I Rothenthurmstr. 17. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, blued steel hands. Plain case, monogram on the back, the inner lid with gift dedication from 1887. Dial signed, case numbered, movement signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers. Comes with an Extract from the Archives.
