An English resilient lever in a gold full hunter case, hallmarked London circa 1873. Gilt three quarter plate key wind movement with fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, garnet end stone, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, the tail of the lever banking on a small ‘C’ shaped blue steel spring. Screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with end stones. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Plain 18 carat full hunter case, double headed eagle engraved on the front cover. Wound and set through the gold dome. Maker’s mark ‘H.B.’ in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.
