Many German watchmakers changed their name into mirror writing and signed their movements with Parisian or London signatures to sell the watches better. The watches from Friedberg are particularly well known for this. Due to the German name on the back, the clock is clearly a clock of a German or Austrian watchmaker. The eight-day movement makes it especially interesting, which is very rare for coach clocks.
