An important and heavy German 18 carat rose gold hunting cased quarter repeating lever pocket watch, circa 1884. Glazed, very early A1 movement, still without fine adjusting device, gold lever, gold escape wheel, diamond endstone, repeating the hours and quarter hours. Champlevé dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, applied gold decoration, subsidiary seconds, steel fleur-de-lys steel hands. Engraved Renaissance case, probably designed by Professor Graff, according to the extract from the archives the case was engraved by Gustav Gessner, Glashütte. Case and movement signed and numbered, dial signed, case and movement with matching numbers. Comes with an Extract from the Archives.
