An extremely rare German 18 carat gold hunting cased ankerchronometer, circa 1870. Glashütte precision lever movement in quality 1A, screwed gold chatons, diamond endstone, gold lever, gold escapement wheel, manually engraved cock, winding wheels with Grossmann’s triple decoration, rare Grossmann’s chronometer balance. Cuvette inscribed M. Grossmann Glashütte in Sachsen Ankergang Chronometer Unruhe 20 Rubine. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, blued steel hands. Engine-turned case. Signed M. Grossmann Glashütte under the dial, case numbered, cuvette signed.
