An extremely rare German 18 carat gold hunting cased ankerchronometer pocket watch, circa 1870. Glashütte quality 1A precision lever movement, screwed gold chatons, diamond endstone, gold lever, gold escapement wheel, manually engraved cock, winding wheels with Grossmann’s triple decoration, rare Grossmann’s chronometer balance. Cuvette inscribed M. Grossmann Glashütte in Sachsen Ankergang, Chronometer-Unruhe, 20 Rubine. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, blued steel hands. Cuvette signed, signed M. Grossmann Glashütte 5203 under the dial.
