An English lever in a gold half hunter case, hallmarked London circa 1882. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Screwed in jewelling, English table roller lever escapement. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, and blue steel hands. Plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring. Plain gold cuvette. Maker’s mark ‘JJS’ in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.
