A Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1873. Retailed by Harry R. Smith & Co., Cincinnati. Gilt finished lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, wolf’s tooth winding. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and sunken subsidiary seconds. Case chased and engraved, blank cartouche surrounded by leaf motif to the front, further enhanced with geometric triangles and outer beading, chase and engraved back cover with vase and floral arrangement on a plinth, surrounded by geometric triangular motif and outer beading, engraved bow, hinged back. Cuvette signed by watchmaker and retailer, cuvette, case and movement numbered.
