An unusually large French silver pair cased oignon coach clock with striking mechanism, circa 1700. Early verge movement, repeating the hours and quarter hours, parts of the movement decoration is missing. Silver champlevé dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, probably later blued hands. The outer case covered with ray skin, pierced and engraved inner case, sound openings, decorated with various bird and animal scenes, bell. Comes with a silver chatelaine with signet and rare key matching to the winding mechanism. Movement signed.
