Gold repeating chronometer by George Moore

A rare and very fine English 18 carat gold 7½ minute repeating chronometer pocket watch, London Hallmarked 1840. Full plate movement with spring detent escapement in the manner of Thomas Earnshaw, bimetallic big chronometer balance with gold screws, diamond endstone, engraved bridge, repeating the hours, quarter hours and 1/8. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, fine steel fleur-de-lys hands. Plain case, case maker’s punch LC for Louis Comptesse, Soho, London. Dial and cuvette signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers, movement signed.
