A Swiss 18 carat gold and diamond-set hunting cased ankerchronometer with very rare Art Nouveau relief case Africa, circa 1890. Fine ankerchronometer movement with balanced lever. Cuvette inscribed with gold medal of the world exhibition in Paris 1889. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, subsidiary seconds and blued steel hands. Unique and especially heavy quality relief case, plain back, the front with high relief depicting a jungle landscape with a lion head and the rising sun, in the centre of the sun a large old European cut diamond, maker’s punch and serial number. Case numbered, cuvette signed.
