A unique and large Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond-set hunting cased cylinder pendant watch with original matching necklace, circa 1830-1885. Presumably a gift watch of Prince Frederik of the Netherlands. Lépine calibre with cylinder escapement. Finely engine-turned silver dial with Roman numerals and Breguet hands. Thin case, blue engine-turned enamel, silver decoration and diamond-set, estimated 4ct, the front of the pendant and bow also diamond-set, the inside of the case with gift dedication: 1838-1885 aan J.W. schuurman voor 47 jaar ter herinnering aangeboden door Z.K.H. Prins Frederik der Nederlanden (gift from Prince Frederik of the Netherlands to J.W. Schuurmann for 47 years of loyalty). The fixed 18 carat gold chain matches the case also with blue enamel and diamond-set. Case numbered.
