The identical movement and case number indicate that Patek Philippe delivered the movement and the dial of this watch to the German chronometer maker Louis Eschholz/E.F. Wolf in Hannover, where the watch was completed, probably exactly as Patek Philippe delivered Tiffany in New York.
–
Louis Eschholz was born in Hannover in 1841 and succeeded E.F. Wolf in Hannover. He was a member of the board of the Hannoverian Watchmakers’ Guild and handed in the chronometer N°863 for testing in 1903. Louis Eschholz died on the 8th of September 1905 in Hannover.
