A Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased Art Nouveau deck chronometer, circa 1896. Glazed movement, extremely rare deck watch calibre with screwed gold chatons and special fine adjusting device. Cuvette inscribed Chronomètre Longines Grand Prix Paris 1889 Grand Prix Paris 1900. White enamel dial with exceptional Arabic Art Nouveau numerals and gold-coloured outer minute dots, subsidiary seconds, rose gold hands. Heavy case with relief, monogram on the front, the back dated 20.3.1896. Comes with an extract of the chronometer database. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers, cuvette signed.
