A fine Swiss hunting cased 18K yellow gold keyless pocket watch with unusual movement, circa 1880. Made for the American market, retailed by J.E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia. Polished, the front cover with engraved monogram, the interior with the engraved name Walter R. Lincoln. Hinged gold cuvette.

White enamel dial with slender radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. Nickel-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 18 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial and movement signed. Case and cuvette signed by the retailer.
