A very fine Swiss, 18K yellow gold, two-train, a keyless pocket watch with independent dead seconds and double gold wheel-train, circa 1875. Made by Louis Audemars, Brassus Swiss, made for Le Roy & Fils, Horloger de la Marine, Palais-Royal, 13 et 15 Galerie Montpensier, Paris, 211 Regent Street, London. A massive, hinged gold cuvette, engine-turned back engraved with a monogram, bolt at 7 to lock the centre seconds. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals and outer Arabic minutes and seconds ring. Gold spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, 29 jewels, two-train, double gold wheel train with tandem winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Signed by Le Roy on the cuvette, Louis Audemars Trade mark punched inside the back of the case.

The movement of the present watch is, as one would expect from Audemars, of very high quality and finish, particularly with the feature of the gold double wheel train.
