Gold, platinum and enamel keyless lady’s brooch watch
–
A fine American platinum and 14 carat gold Art Nouveau brooch suspended lapel watch with blue guilloché enamel and diamond setting made by Marcus & Co., circa 1900. It has a jewelled mechanical manual winding movement, signed Marcus & Co. The white dial shows stylized Art Nouveau black Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer minute track, and ornate hands, also signed Marcus & Co. The watch is suspended from a gold and platinum scrolling brooch set with an old European cut diamond and pink and green enamelled leaves. This leads via a series of baton links embellished in blue and white enamel. The round 22 mm case has a reverse back cover decorated with vibrant blue guilloché enamel and a central floral rosette motif set with old cut diamonds.
