Silver verge pocket watch

A fine and rare French silver and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1820. An Empire case, polished bezels, reeded band, glazed back over a finely painted on enamel portrait of a young girl holding two kittens in her chemise.

White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track with Arabic 15 minute numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. Matte gilt, full plate movement, turned pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental balance cock pierced with letters spelling Gachard, polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed movement and case number.
