A very fine Swiss 18-carat gold hunting-cased keyless pocket watch made for the American market, circa 1890. Nickel-silver movement, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, one of which is set in a screwed gold chaton, wolf’s tooth winding, gold wheel train, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Gold cuvette with engine-turned border. White enamel dial with narrow Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial, and original blued steel Breguet hands. Solid case, polished with reeded band. Dial, cuvette, and movement signed, case punched C.W. & Co. Comes with the original rosewood fitted box and numbered certificate.
