A fine, rare and large French silver and 18 carat rose gold montre de souscription pocket watch with inverced movement, circa 1810. Sold to Mr. Manu on May 1, 1810 for 600 Francs. Gilt brass movement, inverced souscription caliber with central barrel wound from the front, overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, three armed gold balance, parachute on the top pivot, flat balance spring, bimetallic temperature compensation curb on the index regulator. White enamel dial by Borel with Breguet numerals, outer divisions for the five minutes, quarters and half hours, secret signature below 12 and original blued steel souscription hand. Case engine turned to the back, Joly‘s master mark, polished band, rose gold bezels and loose pendant ring. Dial signed and numbered, case numbered.
