A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1880. Retailed by W.E. Hadlock & Co., Boston, Massachusetts. Extra Adjusted movement, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva quality mark, 21 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, swan neck micrometer regulator. Gold hinged cuvette engraved Edward N. Goding. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and original black steel spade hands. Case entirely engraved with scrolls and flowers, the back with a cartouche and engraved monogram. Dial and movement signed by the retailer, case stamped A.W.C. Co.
