Gold pocket chronometer with complications

A very fine and extremely rare Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever pocket chronometer with perpetual calendar, phases and age of the moon made by Vacheron Constantin SA in Geneva, circa 1902. Completed on February 19, 1902. Sold on September 29th, 1903. An adjusted, rhodium-plated movement, 23 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, an outer minute track, subsidiary dials for the days of the week, the months of the leap year cycle, the date and the seconds with inner moon phase aperture and lunar age sector, gold spade hands. Polished case, the front cover with an engraved foliate monogram LJ. A hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed, case and movement numbered. Accompanied by the original fitted presentation box, a spare crystal and a document confirming the date of manufacture and subsequent sale.
