A fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold and champlevé double-dialled keyless lever pocket watch with independently adjustable hands for a second-time zone made for the Islamic market, circa 1880. Frosted gilt movement, 17 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, notched bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance, index regulator. First dial: white enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds, original pierced gold hands. Second dial: matte gilt and silver, annular, painted black Islamic numerals, applied engraved foliate decoration and original blued steel cathedral hands. Polished case, buttons for independent hand-setting and for setting in unison. Dial inscribed Brevete (patent).
