Swiss gold repeating split seconds chronograph Circa 1888

A very fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced five minute repeating split second chronograph keyless lever pocket watch with instantaneous 60 minute register, circa 1888. 3/4 Plate movement, 32 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swanneck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, chronograph with a visible work. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute and fifths of a second divisions, outermost red Arabic five second numerals, subsidiary seconds and 60 minute register and original black steel spade hands. Polished case, concealed hinge, slide for locking the chronograph at 11 o’clock, button for split seconds between 10 and 11. Dial, case and movement signed, case numbered.
