A very fine, elegant and thin English 18 carat gold and enamel Belle Epoque keyless lever dress watch, circa 1940. Gilt brass movement, bar caliber, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. Gilt sunburst engine turned dial with painted Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and original blued steel Breguet hands. Case back decorated with raised chased gold swags and translucent green enamel outer border with white enamel border, inner translucent royal blue enamel ring with chased gold rosette in the centre, bezel with white enamel line border, chased laurel wreath bow. Dial signed, case numbered.
