Gold hunting cased minute repeater

A fine and large Swiss 18-carat gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever pocket watch made for the American market, circa 1890. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping, 31 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette, engraved M. Goldsmith New York, glazed gold-rimmed cover to view the movement. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, outer minute track, and original blued steel Breguet hands. Case engine-turned in a striped and zig-zag pattern with polished borders.
