A fine and large Swiss 14 carat rose gold hunting cased quarter repeating keyless lever pocket watch with automaton Jacquemarts made for the Russian market, circa 1890. Matte gilt movement, 17 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details, glazed gold-rimmed cover over the movement. Matt silver dial plate, a small, central green translucent guilloché enamel dial with gold Roman paillon hours, outer gold paillon dot minute divisions, eccentric subsidiary seconds, decorative varicoloured flowers, polychrome enamel female Jacquemarts in country costume striking bells at the top and gilt Louis XV hands. An engine-turned case with polished borders, a shield-shaped cartouche with a garter border on the front, reeded band. Movement numbered.
