A fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased quarter repeating keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1897. J. Doin, Lons-Le-Saunier, construit pour Mr. P. Rebour, 20 Decembre, 1897. The ebauche by L. Fernier & Fils, Besancon, matte gilt movement, 29 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer gilt dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds with gilt dot seconds divisions and original gold spade hands. Polished case, the front with engraved foliate monogram PR. Movement signed LeCoultre & Co under the hour hammer, the front plate punched with the ebauche maker’s signature.
