A fine and heavy Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased quarter repeating keyless lever pocket watch made for the Hispanic market, circa 1870. Rhodium-plated, 23 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette with engine turned border, engraved with the technical details, further hinged gold-rimmed glazed cover. Matte silver dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, centre and border with cast gold floral decoration, original blued steel spade hands. Massive case with reeded band, fully engraved to both sides with floral and foliate decoration. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed.
