A very fine Swiss 18 Carat rose gold, enamel, pearl and diamond set keyless cylinder miniature pendant watch with a gold and pearl set detachable crown form brooch, circa 1890. Frosted gilt movement, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, three arm gilt balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. White gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with upright blue Arabic numerals, outer gold dot minute divisions and original gold Louis XVI hands. Split pearl set bezel, polished band, the case back overlaid with translucent royal blue enamel over an engine turned sunray ground, gold paillon decoration, the centre set with a large old cut round diamond, split pearl set outer border. Case numbered.

At only 22 mm diameter, this watch is classed as a true miniature. It has been very well made and incorporates a large old cut diamond. The cuvette is made of white gold so that the colour of the diamond is not affected as it would have been by the use of a yellow gold cuvette
