A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced lever pocket watch, circa 1902. Made for Tilden-Thurber Co, Providence in 1902. Sold on May 11, 1903. Rhodium plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 31 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with radial dauphine numerals, outer minute track and red painted Arabic five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds and original gold Louis XV hands. Dial, case and movement signed, cuvette and movement also signed by the retailer, case and movement numbered. Polished case, concealed hinge. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.
