A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced split seconds chronograph keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1890. Rhodium plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, adjusted cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan neck micrometer regulator. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with painted dauphine numerals, outer minute and 1/5 seconds divisions with red Arabic 5 minute/seconds numerals and blued steel spade hands. Solid and polished case, rectangular pusher on the band for the split seconds function. Dial and case signed, movement engraved Pat. 1880.
