A very fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced five minute repeating keyless lever split second chronograph pocket watch with 60 minute instantaneous register, circa 1888. 3/4 Plate movement, 32 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan neck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, chronograph with a visible work. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute and fifths of a second divisions, outermost red Arabic fivesecond numerals, subsidiary seconds and 60 minute register, origial black steel spade hands. Polished case, concealed hinge, slide for locking the chronograph at 11 o’clock, button for split seconds between 10 and 11. Dial, case and movement signed, case numbered.
