Nephrite Art Deco style lever dress watch by Cartier

A very fine and elegant French nephrite, gold, platinum and diamond-set open faced Art Deco style keyless lever dress watch, circa 1980. Rhodium-plated movement, 18 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance and free-sprung flat balance spring. A gold chapter ring on the case with radial champlevé Roman hours and flowerhead markers, secured by four screws, the glazed brushed silver centre with outer hour and minute divisions and blued steel Breguet hands. The case is carved from a single piece of nephrite, the platinum band entirely set with round white diamonds, a yellow gold pendant and triangular bow. Dial and movement signed Cartier, the case is numbered 18753 on the bow and 12 on the back of the chapter ring.
