A fine Swiss 18 carat white gold, enamel, platinum, and diamond-set open-faced keyless lever pendant watch, circa 1890. Retailed by Henry J. Howe, Syracuse, New York. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 18 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 8 adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute track with outermost red five-minute numerals, and original gold Louis XV hands. Engine-turned bezel, the case back decorated with stripes of grey enamel alternating with polished white gold, central rose-cut diamond-set platinum cartouche. Dial, case, cuvette, and movement signed.
