An Austrian gentleman’s fine and rare quarter repeating pocket watch with quarter – and hour self-strike Grande Sonnerie and cylinder escapement at the time of the Austrian Hungarian monarchy, circa 1825.
18 Carat rose gold engine turned case with reeded band, signed dome with gold border, pusher for repeater via pendant and slide to set striking or silence. Enamel dial with Arabic numerals and blued Breguet hands. Full plate movement, frosted, gilt, engraved, with two hammers, two gongs, applied rack strike with polished steel levers, cylinder escapement and three arm balance. Silk lined leather box.
