An English gold key wind pair cased pocket watch with repoussé decoration, circa 1750. Gilt full plate fusee verge movement, pierced and engraved winged balance cock, silver regulation. White enamel dial with black Roman numerals, black outer minute track and blued steel hands. Polished inner case, repoussé outer depicting Venus disarming Mars. Movement signed, case stamped IAG.

The Cabriers were from a famous dynasty of Huguenot watch and clockmakers who settled in London after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes (1685). A relatively large number of their clocks and watches built over a period of half a century have survived.
