Gold minute repeating freesprung lever watch by Charles Frodsham

An English 18 carat gold minute repeating open faced freesprung keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1884. Gilt finished half plate double roller lever movement, 25 jewels, bimetallic freesprung compensation balance with gold poising screws, diamond endstone, minute repeating on two gongs activated by a slide in the band. Gold cuvette, swivel bow, 5-knuckle joint. Tinted white enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Monogrammed case. Dial and movement signed and numbered, case and cuvette stamped with maker’s mark HMF for Harrison Mill Frodsham and London date letter for 1884, bow stamped ‘AS’.
