A fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced minute repeating split seconds chronograph keyless lever watch, circa 1898. Retailed by Schreve & Co. San Francisco. Nickel finished lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two gongs activiated by a slide in the band. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals and subsidiary seconds. Polished case, split seconds chronograph operated through the crown and a button in the band, chronograph slide lock mechanism in the band. Case, cuvette and movement signed by maker, dial and movement signed by retailer.
