A Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased keywound pocket chronometer, circa 1870. Retailed by Charles Frodsham, London. Keywound mechanical chain fusée movement, pivoted detent escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, freesprung blued steel helical hairspring. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, blued steel hands, outer railway minute divisions, subsidiary seconds. Engine turned case. Case and dial numbered, cuvette signed Charles Frodsham and numbered, movement signed W. Hoff & Fils, Chaux-de-Fonds and numbered.
