A fine and unusual English 18 carat gold open faced pair cased keywound lever watch with sugar tong compensation curb and hack feature, circa 1824. Gilt finished jewelled lever movement, chain fusée, finely engraved balance cock and foot, three armed brass and steel balance, balance stop/start lever in the bezel at V, blued steel spring with diamond endstone, sugar tong compensation curb, gilt dust cover. Finely chased and engraved floral decorated gilt dial with Roman numerals on blank chapter ring, subsidiary seconds, surrounded by a raised vari-coloured gold floral border. Plain inner case, outer case with finely chased and engraved floral and scroll decorated bezel and rim, similarly decorated pendant and bow. Movement signed and numbered, case stamped with Chester date letter for 1824 and numbered.
